Aegis Authenticator is an application that offers free and secure management of 2-step verification tokens for online services.
Compatibility
Aegis supports the HOTP and TOTP algorithms, which are widely adopted in the industry. This compatibility allows Aegis Authenticator to work seamlessly with a multitude of services, including those that support Google Authenticator.
Encryption and biometric unlock
User one-time passwords are securely stored in an encrypted vault. By setting a password, users can ensure the vault's contents are protected with robust cryptography. For added convenience, biometric unlock options are available for devices equipped with sensors like fingerprints or facial recognition.
Organization
Aegis Authenticator offers various organizational features to manage numerous entries efficiently. Users can customize icons, search by account or service name, group entries into categories such as Personal, Work, or Social, and employ other options for streamlined access.
Backups
To prevent any loss of access to online accounts, Aegis Authenticator enables automatic backups to designated locations, including cloud services supported by the Android Storage Access Framework. Users can also manually export their vault for added security.
Making the switch
Aegis Authenticator facilitates an easy transition by allowing the import of entries from various authenticator applications like Authenticator Plus, Authy, andOTP, FreeOTP, and others. Root access may be required for apps without an export option.
